Re: at last

has the garage not speced up the build using new heads anyway?

as far as turbo's go depends on what you want to get, the billet turbo's clinic supplies seem to be current best on the market (although its constantly changing) and the offerings from garret don't seem to have done the goods from what i hear.

if you were looking at a gt35 then a gt35r billet may be right for it, as said it just depends on tagret

were just going to use existing avcs heads off mine was just going to have them polished and ported, not necessarily looking at a 35 i just mentiond the biggest turbo to fit physically and thats roughly a 35 size, was very tempted with sc 35 billet as its well proven, but as you say, the constant changing is why my spec keeps changing, the work on the car will start properly in march, this should give time to get the gremlins sorted out on this particular turbo i want (hopefully) lol

Re: at last

hehe i woudn't get too excited untill its done and produced the results (as in turbo's), there notorious for taking a long time to develop and get right, md321 for example went through 8 different revisions of it before they hit the sweet spot.

Re: at last

thats very true, but i want something different, every tom dick and harry who wants big power goes for a garret 35 of some sort (and rightly so as its a proven package) just look on sn so i might just wait till its out and use my bolt on, just have to see nearer the time its needed

Re: at last

bit like anything, the good ones get used alot. Getting the spool vs power balance right is critical. as you go up in power the larger the trubo gets so the laggier it gets, your best off aiming for a power figure and then picking the one that gives the best spool
