Re: my56 wrx speakers

Looks like the door aperture is 5.25" but you can get a bigger cone in there because the spacer is holding it off the max diameter.

Re: Engine Check Lamp

Took it to my local mechanic who does all my servicing. It was 'Catalytic Converter System working below efficiency threshold'. He reset it and it's been fine since, so it might have been a momentary...

Re: my56 wrx speakers

I'm not shooting, honest! :D

Just that I was going to order some new speakers and was sure they were 5.25"

Guess I'll have to have a door card off and check.

Re: my56 wrx speakers

That link says front door speakers on a MY04 are 6.25", I thought it was well established that 5.25" are used for the fronts of basically every impreza?

Engine Check Lamp

Got the dreaded ECL on my 04 WRX this morning, and as I don't like nasty surprises what's the most probable cause?

Can't do a manual fault code read because it's newage, so I guess I'm stuck to...

Re: Meh! Scooby took its first bite out of my bank account.

Mine's an 04 WRX though, I hope the shocks aren't as flaky on these too. Also looks like one of the rear tyres has a slow leak (and some scrubbing on the inner edge, probably due to being...

Meh! Scooby took its first bite out of my bank account.

Took the scoob into my mechanic to check out a plastic guard that was hanging down underneath. looks like someone's tried to do a DIY job and sheared a couple of retaining bolts putting it back on....

Re: RA done!

Lovely and shiny, I always love to see the water bead up on a freshly cleaned & polished car. Have to say, your wheels look absolutely immaculate! Not a scratch or kerb mark on them. Wish mine were...

Re: Mot-no hassle just expense.

I always used Toyos on my FTO and they were great in the wet. Very progressive and predictable in the dry too. Obviously a different kettle of fish car-wise (~160bhp FWD as opposed to well over...

Re: Clay Virgin

I guess so, the one that's straight off the train? I didn't venture any further than that, not knowing if there was anything beyond worth investigating. :o

It was the Multiplex at the mall...

Re: Clay Virgin

Unlikely, I only ever hopped on the train one stop to Iko-Ishida, then got the Nissan bus from there to the office. :D It's the big one that has a Dr. Evil style tunnel through the mountain to get up...

Re: Clay Virgin

I work for a supplier to Nissan, so I was a resident engineer at their design centre in Yokosuka (I think that's where it is. I stayed in Hon-Atsugi nearby.) working on Qashqai.

Re: rear door card removal

Cheers for that. I just had my birthday last week, so I'm owed a new head unit and speakers as a present! :Banane08:

Time to go shopping.

Re: my uk300

Looks mean, love the way all the carbon fibre/black parts contrast against the blue.

The only thing I'm not keen on is the position of the front plate, looks tacked on as an afterthought (but I...

Re: Strange noise when revving

Fluid levels are OK. I took it out for another run this week, and didn't notice the noise so much, so it might just be due to it standing for a while. We'll see, I'm sure something will explode once...

Re: Clay Virgin

Some nice results there. Love the reflection of the Japanese telegraph pole in the bonnet, it always used to amaze me what a mess of cables they run above ground when I was working out there.

I...

Re: NEW SKYLINE GTR

Bah! And Nissan won't let them be exported to elsewhere I hear? Shame when there's such a booming market in used cars from Japan, someone could make a lot of money on those. :)

Re: rear door card removal

I've been looking for this info too, but to no avail. I did read somewhere that it wasn't worth the hassle of upgrading the rear speakers, as it has so little effect on the overall sound (I guess it...

Strange noise when revving

So my Scooby is still sitting in the garage under its blanket while the DVLA sort out the V5 certificate. I haven't driven it for a couple of weeks and took it out for a spin on Friday, just to keep...
