RA + New Wax.

Been a bit quiet in here since Dave has gone on an extended hiatus so heres my car again.

Bought a new wax today, and decided to go for a reasonably expensive one to see if it made any real difference. Price wise this wax works out at almost 4 times the price of Zymols entry level waxes (it is only 3 oz where Zymol are 8) or about the same price as Zymol Concourse Glaze so i was expecting great things.

Here is the wax in question, and I think we can all agree that a classier presented and packaged wax you will be hard pushed to find.

First up was a wash obviously, but before I started was confronted with this;

Wasn't there yesterday and was not a happy bunny. Have no idea how this happened and makes me wonder why on earth i bother trying to keep my car looking reasonable.

Anyway, car was washed twice as was very mucky using Megs Gold Class shampoo and then dried. Applied 1 coat of the wax. Even cleaned my engine in an attempt to woo the MOT guys, and whilst it is not up to the standard of certain other engines on the site, i can assure you it looks heaps better than it did

Results;

Well, was immensely impressed with this wax and can see why people spend a bit extra. After only 1 coat it has given a depth of shine that I struggled to get with several coats of my previous wax. Personally feel it was money well spent especially as it cost me the same as 1 bottle of Blackfire Sealant (incl shipping), and I am as impressed with this. Will be sticking with this until i leave Japan.

Will be washing and applying a couple more coats of wax on wednesday, along with cleaning/dressing the wheels and tyres so expect more pics.

You mean pop a sealant on top of the wax? No. Finished my Blackfire sadly. Tbh though, I'd usually go with wax on Blackfire as reckon you get a better a finish that way.

No Problem, cheap as chips over here. It's a cooper too. You'll have your work cut out cleaning it though. Reckon he sticks it through the car wash once a year if that.

Not all of it no. It's down to the basecoat in places. Most of it will probably polish out though, so I'll do that and then go with Martins suggestion and see what Mr. Sheen can do for my finish.

Re: RA + New Wax.

Your cars looking great these days wayne compared to how it did before you got into this polishing lark.

ive still not found a single product that`l give the best of both worlds though-with sealants you can get the shine and waxes the depth and that kinda glow ya get in some lights.Best wax for best of both worlds and a more natural shine were pinnacle xmt180-just its a soft wax so protection wise not great and ya tended to use quite a bit so seemed not so good value as others.

If i had to choose wax or sealant would be sealant everytime though-just like how my car looks after a couple of coats of sfx4.

Both cars are filthy at the mo with the weather though, aint touched paintwork on scooby for weeks and spacestar wheels look anthracite rather than silver pmsl-were round at bretts other day an ive got a rear calliper sticking on the mitsi but im fcuked if im touching it till the weather warms up it aint hangin on to the stage where ya can smell it so it`l be ok a while.

Got a full set of poly bushes to fit with lee on his series 1 sometime aswell. roll on summer lol

I agree Dave, just can't get a decent sealant here and I may as well wait until april to get my hands on some w/out faffing about with intl shipping. As said though, by far the best wax I have used to date and would love to try it over a couple of coats of sealant.
