slight leak, what is it?

Hi people,

Car is a 1999 impreza turbo uk model.

Had my car serviced yesterday, oil and filter, gearbox oil, rear diff, coolant, brake fluid all changed, put car away, got it out tonight and noticed a small patch of clean oil on the garage floor.

Now this oil is coming from a drain plug on the offside (if i look underneath the car where drivers door is). So the car obviously has to go back even though the oil is minimal (about a 10p size on garage floor).

So my question is, what is this drain plug? Is it the gearbox oil plug? Looks like a 19mm bolt.

Cheers
Matt

off side as in the bottom of the engine??if so id say your oil sump plug (for draining engine oil)has a duff sealing washer or maybe not quite tight enough..,if its sealing washer thats annoying as the oil will run out whilst trying to replace washer or plug itself.

I actually felt like a bit of a wally, there was no leak, however the mechanic had spilt brake fluid and it was dripping of the bottom of the car underneath. All been cleaned up now.

Disagree without mate. I would have done the same, best to be safe than sorry.
Glad it turned out to be nothing
