bonnet vents/scoops

anybody with info on this would be most appreciated been told to remove the backplates from the vents/scoops ?????? if i do what will happen any feedback

I actually tried this out on my prev WRX. I did it during the summer and to be honest I noticed absolutely no difference except for huge plumes of heat coming through the vents. The Scoob did have an induction kit fited at the time and I do believe the vents being removed meant that the heat was sucked up through the bonnet and thus cooked the induciton cone Was a bit of a problem when pulling away and zero power

I have also read other interesting articles about owners who have removed them and have experienced quite an increse in underbonnet temps Personally I would say leave them where they are

yeah i'd just leave em.

if you want additional cooling get the vent/bonnet scoop

like this one from www.mrtrally.com.au

ref bonnet scoop....... i bought an intercooler splitter from e-bay recently....re-directs air onto greater surface area of intercooler.. easy to fit and cost about 25 quid... i could swear it picks up quicker in 4th and fifth.. i might have just made that up though!! does feel quicker though...
