a clunk when i come to a stop ...

hi there
i dont know if this is anything or nothing
but recently when i come to a stop there is a clunk from the rear drivers side ,and it feels like the wheel has rolled in to a hole in the road .....could anyone suggest what this could be ....
my rear brakes do need changing could this have anything todo with it ....
and the shockers where changed not so long ago ....

could well be the rear brakes,or the shocker re-seating,also check the rear droppers and roll bar bushes..

Id change the pads, If they are low and u have been braking the pad could be dropping back into place as you stop maybe ?

yes they do need doing badly .....would i be able to feel them moving back in to place ????

Happened to me, new shocks and all sorted. As it got worse you could see the wheel judder when you bounced it and it felt like driving a boat on corners. Car had sat unused for a few months before I bought it and it just got worse in the first month or two.

when i got it ,it needed new sockers which i had them all replaced for sti ones late last year by bugeye bob ,so i dont think and hope that its them going ....but thanks

hi just been out in it think it must be the brakes as it only does it after i have braked and come to a stand still .....i will get some new ones and sort it out ...if not will be back on here picking your brains .....

Same think happend to me I changed the drop links and anti roll bar bushes as a set and job done no more clunk

brakes. definately. i had exactly that.

the only way i could describe it was as though i was rolling over a hole or bump in the road, or also it felt a bit like there was a football in your boot that was hitting the rear seats as you slow/stop... is that it?

when i changed the rear pads it completely disappeard.
