Anti-lag.

Hi all,

Not planning on getting anti-lag anytime soon but just interested to know,

Can it be switchable eg, on or off?

I know the pros but what are the cons?

How much are we talking to install?

Lastly can it be fitted on a wrx block without changing internals? New age that is, blob eye.

Cheers all!!

Re: Anti-lag.

its the turbo that takes the brunt of it,
Yes you should be able to add to ur car but it would depend on your turbo,
Your ecu can run duel maps so thats easy to switch on or off.

Antilag system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Puts an extra bit of strain on the turbo as above

Re: Anti-lag.

you'll find that 99% of road cars arn;t running proper antilag or an extreamly mild version of it. As said it fries turbos and can kill exhaust valves very quickly.

simply put on a road car it's just not worth the cost or the damage it does. if you want pops and bagn then just get a mapper to add them into the over run. It won't do any damage then.

Re: Anti-lag.

Very easy to add very mild anti lag effects to the std ecu on your car as part of a remap without causing any undue strain on turbo or exhaust headers. Most people that say they run anti lag are only using a mild form as jacking open the throttle for full ALS effectively disables servo assisted brakes.

This very mild form doesnt need to be disabled. I have added it permanently to several cars recently and make for some nice sound effects, particularly between gear changes on hard acceleration an on the overrun.

so could you add a mild anti lag and launch control to an already ecutek'd ecu?

Re: Anti-lag.

Map in some slight over-fueling on overrun and ignition retard. That is the essence of it.

i wouldn't in any way shape or form call that anti lag, its just adding pops and bangs due to extra fuel.

Re: Anti-lag.

ALS is an extreme of that along with jacked open throttle.
