air noise through window?

Hi all,

Im new to owning a subaru not used to this reliability and performance, my last quick car was a Lancia Integrale.

But there is one annoying thing with my05 WRX:- when it is driven over about 90 a really loud screeching hum is produced I think by one of the windows. anyone else experienced this or know of a cure.

Thanks

J

Hi m8,

Yes that is exactly what the noise is like but really loud. Im hoping its just because its cold ish and the rubber is hard, and maybe will be better in the summer

I get this occasionally and have been told it is the mirrors........ :?: :?: :?:

Be interested if anyone has changed their mirrors as to whether they still get the annoying hum......

Does not happen all the time for me AND you can drive through it

Hi jon and welcome to the site, had a similar thing, was a real pain!, get really "pd" off with it, then drove the window down a few inches and then back to the top fully and it cleared

Have since repeated and seems to work for me, only noise now is that damn roof vent! ( love it really)

It'll probably be the Black Plastic trim that runs vertically down either side of the windscreen. It has probably come unclipped somewhere along its length.

I had the same problem, and could not work out what it was, and came across it by chance!.

Common problem I do beleive.
