bugeye wrx flatspot??? help

first of all hi guys, new car 1st problem...
ive got a 2001 bugeye wrx. and between 3500-4000 then 4500-5000 rpm it hesatates a bit (flatspots)...
i have tried looking this up already and come accross a couple of things
1. change the boost pipe connector... done that.
2. reset ecu... did that aswell.
still no joy. ive had it 2 weeks ish and run it on shell v power, could it be the fuel... i cant see why!
going to do plugs and filter this week...
can anyone help me please???
also i have plugged into a diagnostics and no fault codes.
thanks in advance

Id stick it back to standard to start with, if you manage to get rid of the problem then start to play around.

Re: bugeye wrx flatspot??? help

You have the individual coilpacks on the plugs dont ya? check these as might be a bit loose and also could be a faulty coil pack. Did you change plugs also make sure all gaps are right with new ones

Re: bugeye wrx flatspot??? help

going to do plugs 2moro. then move on to coilpacks or get on a proper diagnostic machine (£50+vat) not cheap, and maybe they wont find my problem...
how do i check coil packs as the car runs fine till my foot is down higher up the rev range?
change 1 then go for a spin? then another, and so on? will take ages lol
