smell

Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction ? have just brought myself an 04 plate WRX with 16k on the clock .. only used as weekend car (when its nice) .. but have noticed that occasionly i get a very light oil smell coming though the vents, not everytime and only for a few seconds, the car is fitted with a VTA Forge dump valve .. and i always let the turbo wind down after a run (i'll fit that timer soon .. lol) .. there are no visable leaks and no apparent oil level drop ... any suggestions ???? Paul

Re: smell

have a shower,,,,,, lol, only joking.

could be a number of things, with it being now and again might be rocker cover gasket, but pretty new for that, best bet get it to a garage and let them have a look see.

Agree with the Tidgymeister... get it checked

It could be the air con... if it is not used often... it can stink the car out

I have heat bandages on my header pipes and exhaust system.. also under the engine on my under tray... the bandages got contminated with oil when the engine was replaced... now when the car gets hot... it faintly smells of oil.. though no oil is being lost from the engine or other oily bits

This can sometimes happen if oil has been spilled on an oil change... hope this helps
