Brake pads

hi, i've got an Impreza P1 and needing to renew the pads on the front. the discs on it just now are 335mm and are in reasonable condition but i am having difficulty getting replacement pads to match. by the looks of it there is some sort of brake upgrade on the car, any help would be much appreciated

Re: Brake pads

335mm is a big brake kit for a P1. standard size would be 294mm discs on front. so you will need to know what kit as said above

Re: Brake pads

no, ive measured them and the discs are definately 335mm although it looks like there is some sort of spacers on the calipers suggesting it is the orginal calipers still being used. ive ordered mintex and ebc pads going by whats in the books for the P1 but they are not the right ones as are too small

Re: Brake pads

Sounds like you have either AP 335mm or Alcons 330mm maybe?
Get a Pic up and we will soon tell you,
Id doubt Mintex do discs if it is the above,
Or you have the Godspeed kit which uses the Original subaru 4 pot caliper.

that could be the answer. As Brett has said there are big brake conversions for the standard calipers, and this would include spacers on the calipers. have a look here ...
Subaru Impreza 335mm Brake Upgrade Kit - Using Mintex 1144 or Ferodo DS2500 Pads You may want to give Ian Godney a call of Godspeed brakes as he could supply you with the correst size pads

Also, if it was me, i would avoid ebc pads.

No worries. you've got good stopping power with those size discs, and excellent choice of pad, the ferrodo 2500 have excellent bite from cold, you wont be disappointed.
