Question automatic - manual

I was interested in changing my automatic 2004 RS 1.5 from automatic to manual, so I was wondering if anyone out there has ever done it before and can give me a clue as to what I would need to get and if it's worth it... thanks in advance!

Re: automatic - manual

It's a lot of work and will require the gearbox and all that goes with it plus drive shaft and rear diff.

If you are able to undertake the work yourself, can get hold of the parts cheaply and have the time and patience then I don't see why not. You certainly wouldn't want to pay someone to do it, labour costs would be enormous I'd imagine. Looked into and seriously considered this on my old WRX which was auto, but decided to buy an STi instead.
