clutch dilema!

i have a 51 plate bug eye and my 1st gear has broke so i got hold of a second hand one that had only covered 17000 miles, bit wen i took everything down to my garage they suggested to change the clutch at the same time. i got a new clutch from a 2000 classic scooby but was just wondering if that would ft into my bug eye? ur help would be apreciated!
