2004 wrx Timing Belt Help

Hi All

I have a 2004 wrx with 49k on it and is due a timing belt change.

I was just wondering is it best to use a genuine belt, and is there anything else that usually needs replacing when Im at it.

I was told I would be better changing the oil pump at the same time to a modded version.

The car is only used for normal use and only gets drove fast the odd time

Thanks for your Help

Chris

Your preference really if you want to go for a genuine belt, but Gates are great been using these a long time in the trade and never any issues Gates Belts €“ V-belts, Timing Belts and Serpentine Belts also change waterpump as if you dont the new belt will put strain on pump bearing so for peace of mind also need the tensioner, toothed idler, 3 plain idlers, heard guys on here about genuine oil pumps that it can fail so maybe no harm to change it to

I will get the parts ordered and see how it goes from there .

Many Thanks
