Oil additives (STP, Wynns, etc).

Hi there,

Sometimes, my Scooby can make a subtle noise which I can only describe as tappety. OK, now the car has 70k miles so I know it has not just rolled off the production line.

Has anyone ever added an oil additive to make it a little smoother \ quieter idle\running?

Are there risks involved?

cheers as always

I use only the Wynns have used many of their products and they are great but in the impreza I only use the engine flush at each oil change to clean the engine internally gets rid of a lot of crap puts my mind at rest really but I think you cant go wrong with them but I wouldnt use the stop-leak products whatever leaking Id strip it and fix the problem cause the stop-leaks only solve the problem short time

Forget any additives or flush`s change your oil at no more than 5000 mile intervals use quality oil (motul 300v 15w50) an only tapping ya may notice is the ticking of the injectors.

Mine sounds tappety if run on thin oil.

You on comission or what
Prolong this Prolong that will need more convincing evidence before I use it

But I will if you can convince me

Drop 100mg of Viagra in your oil top up and that should Prolong things for a while longer and stiffen up the suspension at the same time
