Hesitating still!

Ok well after some advice on here I changed my MAF on my Impreza Turbo 2000 W reg, this has made the car run and idle alot smoother and now the jerkyness is only at a single area in the rev range.

What I have done:
Check all boost pipes (tiny hole found in actuator made a massive difference once replaced!)
Cleaned Boost solenoid
Changed MAF
Cleaned Intercooler
Oil and all filters changed
Changed all Plugs
Hand vehicle diagnostic check - all clear

The vehicle is running really smooth and pulling well most of the time, however between 3.5k and 4k the engine just wont rev, its really jerky acceleration. Get past 4k and its goes perfect.

Can anyone explain what may be causing the hesitation at this point in the rev range and what a solution may be.

Thank You

Re: Hesitating still!

Ok thanks mate, is hesitation just between 3.5k-4k typical from a faulty boost solenoid?

Ive noticed it seems to be worse in higher gears under more load, i.e. full throttle up a steep hill in 4th, over flat in 2nd.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

Re: Hesitating still!

it can be,that rev range is roughly, when and where the turbo starts to come into play

Re: Hesitating still!

Ok well Ive tried giving the boost solenoid another really good clean in diagnostic mode today with carb cleaner, see if that fixes the problem.

If not I will purchase a new 1, and go from there.

Kepp the suggestions coming if anyone has any ideas.

Re: Hesitating still!

I have a 2009 model and it has the same problem only it happens (intermittently) between 2 and 3k. This might be because the boost comes on a bit earlier in the newer models? This is something that has happened from new. Ive had it back to the dealer 3 times and they cant find anything.

Re: Hesitating still!

Me too on a 2002 WRX. Slight wobble at about 3K and a dip again at 5K. Been suggested that new plugs will help but havn't done them yet so can't confirm.
