TGV replaced still getting po1088 & po545 cel codes

Got a 2002 impreza wrx wagon uk model.

after many months of frustrating loss of power between 4-5k i think i may be close to getting to the bottom of it.

Last week Independent garage done my badly leaking up pipe replacement to decat....(w/o egt sensor hole) to cure a po171 (bank too lean). Whilst doing this they broke the TGV sensor on drivers side. They replaced the tgv sensor and they deleted the code po1088 yet it keeps coming back straight away. I have a odb scanner and can delete codes yet it still keeps coming back (done an ecu reset as well). The sensor is connected fine...it was sourced new from subaru but fitted by the independent garage. Anyone got any ideas?

This is the same with the egt sensor code po545...i have put a 2.2 ohm resistor in the socket but could only find a 0.6watt version when it should be 0.5watt. I am getting the correct ones through the post any day now....but i wouldn't have thought 0.1 watt over the reccommended would make that much of difference?? Any one give me any other pointers?

I also have a new noise coming from the drivers side front drive shaft....any thing i could check?
