boost at 0.5

Hey guys i am thinking of changing my boost gauge. to one that has lights in, just for effect really. but my main question is this...... at present my booost is set to 0.5 or just over. what do i do to set it to 1.0 and what are the pros and cons of doing so.

car is a wrx import wagon 97 restricted to 112mph, boost gauge is as far as i can see an old style greedy. will get some pics tomorrow when its light.

cheers boyz

Darren, the only real way to make you boost gauge rise it to get it mapped etc,and seeing as its still restricted, there is no way i'd put a Dawes device on or anything else similar

Re: boost at 0.5

thanks for the advice mate, so if i get it de-restricted (DOUBT I WILL) i would then have to get it re-mapped HHMMMmmm money money money lol. i was not sure if it was just a matter of turning a few screws, but come to think of it. i would prob change the air intake filter and fuel intake hence the re-map. oh well may just stick with orig plan and mod the gauge with some cheap LEDs.

Re: boost at 0.5

you won't need to map it if it's getting derestricted,it's mostly to do with the speedo drive,if you don't want to go mad with spending out,pop on RIP and find the thread about Motec, only moved into our local area a few weeks back, bit of a scoob specialist from what i can gather, which reminds me i must pop in and see 'em

Re: boost at 0.5

Get the speed limiter removed!!!! Go on, you know you want to :-) Either way you can still change your boost gauge if you want to?
