New Gearbox, New Problem

Just had a reccond box fitted to my00 uk turbo wagon, and got it back today. First problem i noticed was that the gearstick was extremely floppy (used to be firm and hardly move)

Pulled away from garage and drove home, i thought i heard a whine. But thought i was hearing things.

Was pulling away from a set of lights in town and got a horrible wine in first gear. when i change from first into second theres a whine when i press the cluch and change between the gears.

Anyone any ideas, took it back to garage and he reckoned it was the reconditioned box and nothing to do with him.

Anyone any ideas?

sloppy stick will be a spring missing from the stick linkage into the box,the whine could well be clutch release bearing,or,a naf box has been fitted

clutch release bearing, start the car and see if you can here the whine with the clutch out, then put ya foot on the clutch to see if the noise goes.

Trouble is with recon anything they only sort the damage that deemed it knackered in the first place,"where i can" i`ll get my existing parts rebuilt ya know where ya are then.

Cant recommend Zen performance enough for gearbox rebuilds mines been fine for yrs now an about 30,000 mile.
Best sealant used to date- Fourstar ultimate paint protection *Now discontinued* Rebranded as sonus SFX4 paint sealant-Try some ya wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for the info guys, I have a warranty on the box but its gonna cost me the 250 i paid for it, just to cover the labour to take it back out so i can return it.
