Possible boost issue?

Iv just bouht a 2001 uk 300 and its amazing.
Its got a induction kit, 3" straight through system and forge d/v.

Iv had a UK2000 before with forge d/v and full system.

The issue I have is the d/v on my new one is a lot quieter than my old impreza and the turbo cick is not as harsh, it almost seems like there is no lag at all.
I have heard the 300'ds have no lag compared the the older uk2000 because of the prodrive kit but is this really the case or may it not be boosting correctly?

Re: Possible boost issue?

lag will be pretty much the same due to more or less the same engine and turbo in them. you'll prob find it will feel slower than the classic mainly because of the weight, the uk300 is a few hundred killo's heavier than a classic and that makes a big difference.

best bet to see if its boosting, get a nice long stratch of clear road, put it in 3rd gear and let engine pull the speed back to 20mph ish, then floor it. you'll find its way down the rev range (prob 1500rpm ish) and as it picks up revs you should feel a punch at 2.5k/3k revs as the turbo kicks in, if theres not then somthings a miss..

also befor eyou do the run just check the maf sensor by disconecting it while the engines running.
