Bonnet vent blanking plates

Ok, next question. Do I leave the blanking covers in place that are under my bonnet vents or take them off ? Will water damage my cone filter if I take these plates off ?

Thanks again

Matt

Cheers fella, think I'll leave them on until I get a scoop like yours then. Got the vents off at the moment to paint them.

Re: Bonnet vent blanking plates

wise choice, when i 1st got the car,i removed the lot, took it for a run to exeter, had boost surges due to the increased flow of air into the IK..lol

on the way home it was stammering like mad,due to the rain, that night i order the mini scoop 3 days later arrived and installed,it's never been off..

Re: Bonnet vent blanking plates

Had them off on my old WRX over the summer when there is no rain but then forgot to put them back on in september for Typhoon season. May have been a coincidence but my alternator went pretty quick after the rain started coming down (and it really comes down in Typhoon season) and it cost 200 quid for a re-con one. Other issue i had was oxidization of my battery terminals.

Re: Bonnet vent blanking plates

run mine all year round on a K&N, only issue I have is a few minutes as the car warms up and comes off of choke, she hesitates a little. Might not be anything to do with the IK though.
