silly question,probably logical answer.

hi guys, when jacked up should you be able to spin the wheels freely or should they have resistance(stick) due to diffs, awd system etc..? when turning the wheels from underneath i can hear grinding(right term?) coming from the c.v joints at the diffs as i move the wheels back and forth is this the norm?this is my first awd car so im looking for peace of mind.cheers.

Re: silly question,probably logical answer.

The wheels wont move freely individually no. if you tried turning 1 wheel the wheel on the opposite side tries to turn the opposite way so its like double the effort. I dont know technical terms lol
