Exclamation Subaru has come from Cyprus - Advice?

Hi again,
The Subaru I am interested in I notice has come from Cyprus, Nicosia - that was where it seemed to have first been purchased.
I am now in a dilema - as I just rang a local subaru dealer who said to me dont touch it, you wont get a subaru warranty with it and it wont pass its mot because it doesnt have a cataytic converter. Its an 07 plate so mot is up next year. What should I do? - listen to his advice? or does anyone here have any experience advice??
Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Subaru has come from Cyprus - Advice?

depends if you want to risk it, are you buying private or from a dealer?

dealer should give 3 months warrenty at least anyway. I do know some folks get issues with warrentys on uk cars if sold on private.

do you have any plans to mod the car? warrenty will be void if you mod no mater what, also does the price reflect it being an import?

you'll prob find its come from motorworld or what ever its called, parralel import. check its the same as uk spec, turbo, interior etc etc, and also bear in mind it doesn't have a cat 1 alarm as standard like the uk ones.

the mot things bollox, and you'll find most dealers wont touch alot of cars if there mod'd, plus specialist tend to be alot cheaper than dealers anyway.

if the price is right worth have a look at least.
