oil leak

I seem to have developed an oil leak since changing the engine and gearbox oil, i was wondering if theres a common place that the 94 turbo engine springs leaks it seems to be coming from the back of the engine and i would say its engine oil as it dont smell like gearbox oil, any ideas guys??

Re: oil leak

Hi Mate i could well be your rear crank seal, Mine was leaking like that and had it replaced whilst they have the box out if you do get it done you might want to replace the clutch

Oil runs everywhere when a leak springs up when you driving the car the oil can run everywhere as it leaked after you replaced oils I would say it either drain plug washer worn and or drain plug a bit loose, oil filter to loose, I would say overspill of gearbox oil but you said it dont smell like it, if all that fails id go with TUNERS post

Re: oil leak

If u smell oil burning it could be coming from the rocker gasket. I'm having that same problem at the mo.

Re: oil leak

yep thats what im thinking too, the puff is as the oil drips onto the downpipe it burns off, whent he cars warm pop the bonntet and have a look down the left hand side behind the engine, if theres a puff of smoke it will be coming from there

Re: oil leak

cam seals are pretty common, i dont think there mega expensive if caught in time. best bet get your chosen garage/tuner to give you a quote to sort it
