Question v2 sti ecu

Hi just bought a '6k' ecu off a v2 sti (on the understanding that they are the best stock ecu for a classic). Its arrived today and I thought I'd open it just to see if its been played with and found this!! Dunno what make it is or anything, it doesn't seem to say. The chip I put in my ecu (which this is to replace) was literally a chip not a full board!!
Can anybody help me to identify this? I'm thinking... is it mappable??
Cheers Eddie

Re: v2 sti ecu

It's definitely the standard ECU for a V2 STi with some SST chips stuck on it (never looked inside my ECU casing so no idea if they should be there, but I don't think so judging by the pics I have). Don't think that ECU is mappable as is, so the SST chipset could be piggy backing the ECU to get round that. (can tell I'm no omputer buff)

Somebody with more knowledge will pipe up I'm sure, as I'm clutching at straws a bit here.

Re: v2 sti ecu

I put the ecu on last nite... and apart from not much, I'm not sure wot the chip set is doing. It was boosting at 12psi, then dropping back slightly. But it has got rid of the flat spot i had at around 5k rpm (which was the main reason i wanted the sti ecu, as i was stil running my wrx ecu on the sti engine.). It doesn't seem to have the urgency the my last ecu had tho, as that was pushing 16psi, so I'm going to swap the chips ova in a bit and try that!!

Re: v2 sti ecu

swapped the chips ova... WOW!! now the turbo really kicks!! in 3rd it peaked at 18psi. i didn't keep it there for long as not sure if it should boost that high. but keeps a steady 16 psi now in other gears. best 38 quid a spent in a while!!

Re: v2 sti ecu

just be carefull, increased boost doesn't mean its running well, might be pulling strong but could have the afr way way out and could result in poping the engine
