Popping classic

Hi guys/girls, i've just bought my first scooby and i've got to say i love it to bits but there one thing thats niggling me and that is, when your driving the car (not hard) and you slow down i've noticed it tends to pop like a backfire out of the exhaust is this normal or do you think its over fuelling slightly?

Cheers in advance

Re: Popping classic

its usually just unburnt fuel igniting in the hot exhaust...you can perfect it to make it bang on demand if you like

nothing to worry about mate

Re: Popping classic

If its got a vta dumpvalve on it(Vent to atmosphere ie noisy) go bk to a recirculating if ya can live without it as they cause alot of it due to the car metering the fuel air ratio based around the air from a std recirc being put bk through the system each time you ease off /change gear whatever,as is if theres a vta one on it that air`s escaping into the atmosphere whilst your ecu thinks its still goin bk through your engine hence the overfuelling/pops/bangs from unburnt fuel on your hot exhaust.

To be honest though i quite like it
