MY03 STI type UK - Does it have LSD?

The manual doesn't say whether it is equipped or not. Any ideas how I can check?

I need to know as I need to replace gearbox and rear diff oil....and apparently i cannot use any old 75w-90 if I have LSD

Theres actually diff oils depending on type of lsd aswell i believe though think thats between dccd cars and none dccd(but dont quote me), wont help ya really but the better ones ive used in my classic have been silkolene silktran syn5 and whats in currently castrol syntrax/driveline(semi synthetic)75w90.

RCMS used silkolene syn5(service)/zen performance used millers-changed it soon after though the millers stuff made the box more notchier feeling than it normally is.

Used castrol syntrax/driveline ever since without issue.

There`l be a thread around in technical somewhere where ya can ask opie (oilman)or go on their site, though i dont always agree with some of their recommendations is not bad for a rough reference guide.

Re: MY03 STI type UK - Does it have LSD?

Thanks Dave, hopefully someone knows. Trust me, I have checked out hundreds of pages in 3 different forums, been on many websites, but just cannot find the info I need.

I hope to pick up something from Opie just as soon as I can identify for sure what I need. Subaru open again on Tuesday so will call them. They couldn't supply me with gear oil and diff oil as my local one only sells that in bulk and I can only get access to it if I service through them - LIKE HELL I WILL!!!!

silkolene silktran syn5 should be fine for whatever diff you have. Will work fine in DCCD equipped cars too i believe. Could try posting a question here:

Oil advice and recommendations here

Guy will set you right.
