Question have i bought a shed?

hi just bought another classic impreza turbo ej20, allready a few problems have arisen, when i start the car the check engine light stays on until the accelarator is pressed,(never seen anything before like it), second and third gears crunch quite often, check engine light comes on around 80mph, when turning full lock right car feels like its running on a flatty or egg shaped wheel! and last but not least it sounds like some bearings are about to fail around the cam belt area! anyone had these issues or no how to resolve them help would be appreciated. or is it just a shed that wants cashing in at the scrappy.................

If there sounds like some bearings 'about to fail' in the cam-belt area i'd get that checked out asap mate incase it's a tensioner. If it throws the cam-belt it's gonna cost

Re: have i bought a shed?

Also for the crunching in 2nd and 3rd gear change check oil in box renew it and see if that helps but to be honest the synchro hubs need to be replaced cause normally when gearbox low on oil all gear changes can crunch but because of just two individual gear changes 2nd and 3rd it must be the synchros and that means box out opened up and new synchros............
