Cheers Tidgy had a look this morning tighten bolts a notch to try and sort it seems to have done the trick if it comes back il have to drop diff to get at it as you said nothing major but just to get at that seal will have to drop diff ah nothing easy with jap cars at least the reliability is good and the power

Re: Tiny Leak from Rear Diff

Well that tiny leak back kept a close eye on it since, its definetly from the gasket/seal and only happens at 120kph on motorways im thinking what is happening that oil flows faster at speed obviously so say the crown gear set swoshing oil up the top of the worn gasket/seal and running down faceplate so only easy way to sort it and to replace it is drop the diff doing it this week it a tiny seep more than a leak but its the small things that wreck my head

Hi Darren, if you only get this tiny oil leak after you go fast on the motorways. It could be the vent on top of the diff doing the leaking.

Only from a guy in the US.

Mechanic also suggested the vent at top of differential, which can spray fluid out, especially at high speeds on the highway. I'm going to check my fluid levels this weekend to see just how much is or isn't there

Re: Tiny Leak from Rear Diff

You've got me thinking now. Been gradually going round the car over the past few weeks checking things over. I've tried to undo the filler cap to check the level on my rear transmission but it won't budge. Used as much force as I dare but don't want to force it. Can you guys recommend anything?
