Advice please.................

Am fitting a recon engine to to my '94 wrx ( see 'all in the name of fun' in impreza discussion lol ). Here's where the confusion comes in, i can get an sti engine for the same price as a wrx unit 784. Both engines come reconned with a unlimited mileage 6month warranty.

I will need to transfer all ancilleries from my old engine to the new unit and was wondering if everything from the wrx lump would bolt straight up to the sti lump ( manifolds, intercooler etc ).

I'm not expecting to get any more bhp from the sti lump if i'm using the wrx management etc but it is my understanding that the sti lump is the stronger of the two with forged pistons etc???

If i remember correctly someone on here has already done this conversion so any advice/tips gratefully received ;-)

Answers on a postcard please!!

Ok mate, thanks. After speaking to a mate who runs a local garage and the guy who is selling the recon engines, i have ordered up an sti engine. Aparantly all ancilleries should bolt up no probs ( '97 was the year that they changed the engines slightly so i'm led to believe ). Can't wait to get the car back on the road now, my pajero ain't quite cutting it lol.
