Re: wheels

It will a bit the smaller the wheel the faster the accelleration so if it was me id stick with the 17s subaru put the 17s on for a good reason im sure if they got better handling from 18s they would have put them on

Re: wheels

Not that much to be honest but up to you a friend of mine had an integra type r had the standard wheels on it then he went an inch bigger and it wrecked the handling but you wont know till you tried it

Re: wheels

It should not change the handling that much as the 225's,will create a bigger foot print on the road surface, what you will notice it will be a firmer ride ,especially when you go over bumpy ground,as the 40 profile has less rubber between tyre and wheel rim.
You might want to check some earlier posts(in the search bar) to see what comments other people have said when changing from 17's to 18's. I had standard 205 - 50 - 16's on mine, just changed to 225 - 45 - 17's ,and have noticed more grip, especially in the bends, but no real sacrifice to the overall ride quality.

Re: wheels

and just to add IIRC the STi version had 18's fitted as standard did it not? one assumes for more grip etc.
