drive shaft

hi there could any1 help could any1 tell me on a impreza turbo 2000, 2000 x reg if the abs ring is on the drive shaft or if its on the hub because ive been told its on the hub. i have bought 2 drive shafts and put it into 2 different garages and there saying the drive shafts wont fit because there is no abs ring on the drive shaft. if any1 can help because dont know if there just saying that because i never got the part from them. thanks

Id reckon the garages are right the abs ring should be on the driveshafts use get a lot of jap cars in our garage and all had abs ring on the drive shaft and the abs sensor is on the hub that picks up the reading from the abs ring on shaft wheather or not the wheel locking say under hard braking and if so it works the abs..........
