SLOPPY GEAR LEVER

Goin to change the gearshift link bushes soon, have a lot of play on the the gearstick is this common in the wrx's/ sti's????????

Was looking at vids in youtube and the play on some gearsticks is v bad waiting on the bushes to come in from subaru you would think they would have them on the shelf.............

All sorted done the bushes today had a sloppy gear lever it was the bushes on the gearchange rod at the gearbox end, held in with the 12mm bolt think it was, had the problem it was sloppy left to right the gear lever its as tight as a nut now nice good feel to the shift now replaced them with oem parts €50 ouch but its great now.................

I've changed the one's marked the red arrow the 4 of them

Got your PM, How sloppy is the gear change it might be engine mounts and gearbox mounts but I never heard them give problems only the plastic liquid filled mounts in later sti's what happened to mine was in the pic above I changed the clutch and when I took off the gearchange rod the bush fell out one arrowed red and was it sloppy horrible feel to it, so just changed the whole lot, they were OEM parts and hope you got small hands as it annoying to get at but could upgrade them Pete has links here aswell SHIFT LINK BUSHES
