Hi, i've got a sticky rear drivers brake caliper. Its got so bad now that the entire wheel is v. hot. Can the brake caliper be repaired or does it need replacing?
Thanks

It happened to my friend and the back wheel locked up on the track scary he replaced the caliper and it was perfect....... id check the brake lines to could try bleeding the brakes first and then maybe if that dont work id go with changing the caliper......................

Re: brake caliper

maybe get the disc checked for warping too. due heat build up. if it's a sticky piston then i believe it can be replaced.

Re: brake caliper

easy to repair calipers mate you can buy a repair kit what will contain new seals. because i will bet that one of your seals as split and water is now rustin so it will make the pot stick.
take the caliper of check your seals maybe put a bit of wd40 in that might help in the short term but if there split it will only get worse. i would buy the repair kit and take the caliper of and pop the piston out give it a good clean replace with new seal.
job done mate or just get sum second hand calipers of ebay
