Question Broken Speedo

I have a 97 Impreza with a broken speedometer.
Is there a way to check and see if its just the cable thats broken?

How hard is it to replace just the cable?

Re: Broken Speedo

Have a look if the cable has come adrift from the gearbox. Also look at the cable behind the clock set. Insure that the drive is fully home and locked into position.

Re: Broken Speedo

I have no idea where the speed sensor is on the gearbox.
Anyone no a cheap place online to pick up a speedo cable?

Re: Broken Speedo

Nevermind. It was the drive adapter. I hear its very common for those to break in subaru's.
