which tyres?? opinions?

so im looking for 4 new tyres so im just fishing 4 advice/opinions, i carnt decide due to the following... on my previous scoob i had 4 brand new p7000 although i couldnt fault the grip they lasted the grand total of 3500 miles same story on my m3 had conti sport rears were gone on 4000 which becomes an expensive jobbie, so a mate who runs his own mobi-fit type operation advised me to have kuhmos on the rear and falken on the front{yes i laughed too} but no word of a lie i was a bit short on cash so went along with his idea.{cost 240 all done etc} again i swear the m3 has never handled so good overall conditions etc!! so long story short he is now suggesting falken for my beloved scoob, again at first i thought he had gone round the freekin bend but obviously because of his previous advice i must consider his opinion. i just want your advice of what i am saying...cheers guys...many thanks in advance

toyo proxes get a good rating on the scoob forums. Have to watch out with tyres on the scoob as some can cause the car to wander even more than it does.

A friend of mine swears by the Bridgestone Potenza tyre the RE050 had mine fitted two weeks ago on my V6 and the grip is staggering, expensive but they are hard wearing.

In my opinion you can't beat goodyear eagle F1. As good in the wet as the dry although can be pricey but if you have a fast car the first saftey measure/performance upgrade is the tyres

Re: which tyres?? opinions?

hehe, your gonna get ten different answers to this lol

personaly i use toyo proxies, mate used them on his hawkeye and he thought they were very poor, but he's got a classic before and again now, and he always has toyos, so seems to be model specific

Re: which tyres?? opinions?

Had Falken 'Ditch finders' on the front of mine when I bought it, absolute rubbish !!

I imagine they would be very hard wearing though.

Put on a full set of the OE Bridgestones, cost me about 370 fitted, and seem to be a good compromise between grip & wear.

Re: which tyres?? opinions?

Yeah I run the bridgestone tyres on my car too. I find they give acceptable mileage and acceptable levels of adhesion. They wear pretty evenly aswell.

Falken are okay. Toyo is better than falken.
