Red Stuff Pads

Hi all,

I've just ordered a set of red stuff front pads to replace the ferodo's that have lasted around 7 months (due to a bearing prob causing the caliper to overheat and stick).

i thought i'd give them a try and was just wondering what people's experiences of them were?

I have had them on for a couple of weeks along with EBC TGD972 Groved and blind drilled disks.. I am a happy bunny, going from stock disks and pads to slotted discs it was a little strange at first hearing the slots whilst braking but this has very much become quiter once all bedded in.

The pads stop even from cold, so far have noticed very little dust and most importantly don't fade easily at all. I couldn't compare them to the Ferodo pads though as I didn't havbe any..

cheers
Angelo.

Really?

I haven't roasted them as yet to be honest but just already found them miles better than the pads I had. Being stock pads and discs I guess I would.. right?

What discs did / do you have?

according to the website, they've improved the material compound and construction to stop things like that happening

I read that too..

The orginal Red Stuff was a different compound.. (hence there is a new one ). I don't think the original pads had Ceramic content where these ones do..

I'll still keep Tidgy's comments to mind though until I have bedded them in properly and taken them for a late run on the motorway and brake hard coming odd the slip road.. rather than having them fade down a lane somewhere.. SUGARRR JUNCTION!!!....

Love my EBC redstuffs.

EBC brakes are the best I've ever used.

I have full confidence in them.

i think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell!!!! have managed to get the wrong pads sent out. cos the car is one of the first of the facelift classics, it's a pain in the ass to get the right stuff first time. gonna have to send these back and get another set sent out
