Question Lots of water on carpets Please HELP.

Hi Everyone

I have a new problem

It looks like the heater drain is blocked

I have noticed the front pasenger foot well was a bit damp aout 2 days ago but now the front is soaked and so is the rear (behind the front pasenger)

When i say soaked i mean like an inch of water laying on top of the carpets!

What makes me think its a heater problem was when i switched on the fan loads more water came down the inside bulkhead into the pasenger foot well

Anyone know where i need to look to clean the drain?

It has been raining hard for the last 3 days in not so sunny kent rain is good for the garden but not so good for my scooby.

Its a 1996 turbo wagon by the way (and i love it)

Many thanks
Derek

Would guess its the heater matrix thats had it if theyre owt like fords ive previously owned, sml radiator if ya like(matrix)which is part of engine coolant system in ya heater box that fan blows air through to give ya warm air-would recommend checking your coolant level first aswell however is only gonna keep on leaking untill its replaced if it is the matrix, never had experience with scooby heater probs/leaks does the water feel like theres antifreeze in it ie slightly soapy/oily when ya rub your fingers together-another sign is your windows steam up more easily for no apparent reason.

May not be above and could just be a genuine leak somewhere from outside checking your coolant level will answer that question, though for how wet you describe it sounds like the car would be overheating by now.

Thanks for the info uk dave

I have checked the rad water and all is well here

I changed the coolent and the rad about 2 weeks ago had a few problems bleeding it out but that seems fine now with no loss of water

I am sure its rain water as there is even more of it now. No joke there is an inch of water now in the front and rear pasenger foot well time for the old vax!

I am going to strip of the cold air vent plastic cover around the wiper's i think?

Got to have a drain in there some where to let the water out

I will let you all know what i find and will try and get some pics

Many thanks
Derek

Still not sure whats going on

Hi,

This weekend i striped the air vent panel off (the plastic one along the bottem of the widscreen)

There was a bit of muck under there but not a lot

It would seem that any water that gets in here would drain away down the in side of the wing and it all looks good.

I have doble checked the water level and it hasent used a drop since i replaced the rad.

the water on the floor is has no anti freez in it so i must be rain water i tasted it to test!

All the door seals look to be ok

Any other ideas?

I have vaxed it all out and its drying out slowley well very slowley actualy

I also found a drain for the air con and this is all clear

not sure where to look now

Cheers
Derek
