Anyone know if this is worth buying for my WRX Import?

Also, as i'm abit thick, whats the main use for these?

Scotty.

Never tried that one m8 but this is the gauge i bought from ebay - looks the biz and since its electronic there are no rattles from it like the "tim" gauges

Engine management systems including the stock one have target boost levels. The only way of ensuring you meet and not exceed these levels is with a boost gauge.

Yeah its fine m8. Never bought anything from that person before so dont know what their service is like though.

You will need a pod to hold it in unless you already have one or are planning on putting it somewhere else.

I have the one from the link below (93-00) and its a perfect fit for the drivers pillar.

93-00 models - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IMPREZA-93-00-...QQcmdZViewItem

01- onwards
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IMPREZA-01-on-...QQcmdZViewItem

I didnt use the t-piece when i had a needle gauge, i found a long nipple on the manifold on the right hand side of the coil pack for the air line to pop onto.

They measure the pressure of the air entering the intake manifold and it should read about -0.8 bar (vacuum) when the engine is idling and up to 1 bar when the turbo is at full chat (might read higher if you have tuned the engine).

Like been said before they are good for keeping an eye on what the turbo is doing as if things start to go wrong ie the turbo starts to go haywire then you can see it right away.

A side note though, i swapped mine to a digital gauge as the last needle gauge i had used to rattle when i was cruising along and it eventually sent me round the bend. Hopefully this one will be ok tho.

As Anders said on your MY Impreza you should find a vacuum pipe feed on the inlet manifold.
