Intermittant knocking noise

Hi All, my first thread. I have a 99 classic which has just developed an intermittant knocking noise. It is coming from the passenger side of the car and I happens when taking it steady and occassionally when going around right hand bends. I have been under the car and checked everything and found nothing rubbing or failed. Drive shaft seem ok (bit of play) and wheel bearing has no play. Any suggestions?

Hi Pete, The links are quite new with nylon inserts. The bushes seem to be in good condition.

Normally you do get play.

Telephone Alyn Stockton (stockcar) he is a .org member. I'm sure he will try & help you with this problem.

Just to let people know the knocking noise was traced to a worn hub that would occassionally turn within the wheel bearing inner sleeve. New hub and bearing fixed the problem.
