rattle question

I didn't find much with the search function, so here goes. I just got an 02 impreza last week and noticed that when I shift from first to second and second to third I get a rattley buzzing sound when I clutch and let off the gas to shift. The sound lasts for about a half second and I can here it much more so with the windows down. It seems to be coming from under the car? I would just turn up the radio but I haven't got going right now. Any help much appreciated. This is my first "new car" or non "pile of crap" car. I may already be a subaru man for life.
