sti brake pads alternatives

This might have been discussed before, but couldn't find a satisfying thread...

I was performing my 5000 km oil change the other day at the local Subaru service. Meanwhile i decided to check the prices for brake pads. I was surprised by the result - 420 euro for a front set and 400 for the rears. I ussually stick to the OEM parts untill i get enough positive feedback for an aftermarket performance product. But those numbers made me think.... isn't there anything better at the performance market for such a price?

So what pads is everyone using? Lets not compare prices for a moment, which company sells a better product than the OEM sti pads and rotors? Have anyone trested Prodrive, Project Nu, Mintex, EBC, Hawks, etc?

I will greatly appreciate any feedback...

Ferodo ds2500 or Pagid RS4.2.1 ideal for fast road but may cause pad drop-out on sustained track use, Performance Friction for most uses.............
