Noise From Front Brakes

Am getting a creeking noise from the front end when the car comes to a stop. Presume its the brakes, but would anyone know exactly what it could be?

I know the car was standing for a few months before i bought it, but i use it everyday now.

Also, do u think its okay to take all the heat shields from around the exhaust off. One of them makes a loud noise when in 2nd gear, vibrating, and its doing my head in?

Scotty.

Hi Scotty.

The creeking noise could be coming from the rubber bushings that go around the swaybar. Lubrication goes in the rubber bushings that go around the swaybar. Allows the bar to rotate without binding as well as keep squeaks & the creeking to a minimum.

A guy had creeking from the front end of his car it turned out to be the sway bar, he just lubed with a small amount of WD40 on each end of the end links and the rubber bushings that goes around the swaybar.

Have a look at the front struts, clean off any gunk then grease top and bottom.
