Misfire/hesitation

Hi there, i've owned a uk97 for 8 years with no problems but.....

my Dad has a cataluyna, same age, that has got a tempermental
misfire/hesitation.

It was diagnosed with an error code that said cam position sensor. This was replaced, but made no difference. So i decided to disconnect the battery for half hour, thought this solved the problem, but it didn't.

The plugs and leads have been changed, no difference.

Next step i shall swap the MAF and/or coil pack, from my car to His

Can anyone diagnos anything obvious that has been missed. please

thanks James

Thanks for the replys,

The car has been to two garages so far, the next step would be a main franchise(sp) dealer, after trying more tinkering.

.....just a quick update.

Swaped the MAFs over today, between the two cars(cataluyna and My car).
We drove about 30miles in the Catalunya with my MAF, with no probs. Swaped back again and after about 10miles the car was hesitant, with slow pick up.

Now i need to get a new MAF, could anyone point Myself in the right direction.
Hint Hint ..links?

G.I.A.S Yes it is a limited addition, leather seats, gearknob, carbon-graphite style instrument panel. Not forgetting some sticky badges.

I have purchased MAF sensors from Subaru breakers in the past - Grade A are very good and all of their parts have been tried and tested
