what rev range are u in ? could just be case of not being in the turbo on mine 2001 wrx 2500-3000 is when the power come in.
also has the car been serviced latley as blocked air filter or spark plugs affect performace

if the CEL keeps coming on its telling you its got a fault..................you need it diagnosed asap before it potentially costs you a turbo/engine/etc...........

you can check the cel code to find out what check code you are getting. to do this. under the steering colloum area. you will have to look for a set of green plugs and black plugs. just connect the black plugs together. put the key in the ignition and turn it to the first position. do not start it. the engine check light should start flashing. See the url below should help you read the engine fault code. Once you have the code. disconnect the black connectors with the ignition off.

Hope this helps

Yep if you are decatted it will... You can either get it mapped out or there is a resistor you can get to fool the ECU.

the CEL light only comes on on the new-age cars because it thinks the car has a lamba fault due to the missing CAT...................this feature doesn't exist on the classic cars so no CEL

none of the cars will throw a CEL simply because of over-boosting...........
