30,000 miles service

Hello everyone! Hope everyone's year is shaping up nicely

My car is due for its 30,000 mile service and the dealer wants to charge over $400 for it. Much of the service they want to do I don't feel I need. I'm fairly mechaniclly inclined and if I really wanted to, I could do all the service myself. I'm pretty busy though so I don't mind paying for a mechanic to do the things I don't want to do. I'm thinking I'd like to change the fluids in the tranny, diffs, brakes and cooling system. I'd like to put some top quality oils in the tranny and diffs and would love some advice as to a good brand. Any other tips would be appreciated. I drive this car pretty hard so anything to prolong its life is an option for me Thanks a lot! Jr

It's an 04 WRX STi by the way

For fluids (oil) you want to go Synthetic.. Have a look at Oilman posts on here for recommendations... Motul and Silkolene seem to be the two main runners here in the UK

the 30k service is the biggy as far as impreza's go, all fluids, filters and cambelt, only exclusion is the fuel filter.

30k isn't a belt service, generally.......................45k or 60k dependant on age/use...............
