Which brake pads?
Hey guys, im gonna need some new brake pads for my 4 pots on a 2000 impreza. Now ive upgraded the standard pads and discs last time, I have grooved and dimpled discs and the Mintex pads. Now these pads are ok but they give off a hell of a lot of brake dust. Im forever cleaning the wheels and its starting to wind me up.
So basically im looking for a decent set of pads with little dust. I'm thinking of maybe the Red Stuff brake pads, but I heard they are not the best when they are cold? Or maybe there is a not too expensive disc and calliper upgrade I could purchase. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I dont really know whats out there.? Thanks

ebc are shite mate stay well clear, after seeing a car come flying past me and into a hedge cos they failed i'd never ever go near them.
mintex or ferodo are the best but tbh you might just have to put up with dust or crap braking realy.

Really thats not very good at all.
![]() Its a shame that because thats the only good thing about the Red pads, they dont give off much dust. Maybe I will try Ferodo then, unless I can find some Brembos or something.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That would be nice. Maybe if I start doing a few track days. ![]() Thanks Tidgy. Great help. ![]()

I've always used Reddot on my cars. You'll have to check there applications though. There now based in Watford.
Stay away from the Redstuff, the worst pad I've ever used, I've used both Green and Red stuff. Red stuff were worse then the Green. They wrecked my disks because they are such a hard compound and took all week to warm up so you could use them. |
