you'll struggle on the early car to get that intercooler to fit, due to the inlet manifold being farther back than the V3> cars..............................

you struggle even to get later V3-6 i/coolers to fit

the early models are slanted off to one side, not central.

mmm, debateable, and by the time you found one fitted it prob nit enough to justify it, have seen them for around £120 - £200 second hand, be better off saving up for a front mount

Also full of blinkered stuck up people as well mate.

I would get a FMIC IF I was gonna get change the IC.

Get a ACT gauge first and check the temp.

Ok Tidgy point taken, will not bother with a new intercooler.Just thought it might be better putting a new one in thats all.As the old one looks like it been in there since 93.

that would be my only reason for replacing a top mount with another top mount. you can get diverters for the air, but in truth i have no idea how effective they are.

Have seen it done on my/00`s with decent results but is a bit fcuky abouty as you have to modify the scoop undertray and seal and intercooler brackets-ie its no good having a bigger cooler with air only going through the middle bit then youve gotta improvise with a seal of some sort between cooler and bonnet-they are definately better-though not as good as a front mount, but likes been said not to sure on the earlier classics wether its been done before,or if it`l go on.

Found a link on fitting to later classics here if your interested mate
