Crunching in 4th

I've just started to get a crunch in 4th only when changing from 3rd to 4th at over 3000 rpm changing to 5th its fine? ive looked thought some old threads and alot of them say about changing the gear oil ive just tried that but when i removed the gearbox drain plug i had a large metal chunk come out and the oil hasn`t helped . What do i do try and get the gearbox repaired or look for a new gearbox ?

I had similar on 2nd & 3rd and had a gearbox rebuild (under warranty)

I would speak to a specialist like

Alyn at http://www.asperformance.com/ who is Stockcar on here

or
Scoobyclinic http://www.scoobyclinic.com/

or
Paul at Zen Performance http://zenperformance.co.uk/
