somebody please help me!

hi im new on this website. ive looked around here and its a cool website but i have a couple of questions.

i have an 04 sti and for some reason the cruise control lights blinking and the check engine lights on. its also running slow. i have no clue what this could be. one of my friends scanned it for me and it said the cam timing is off..but it doesnt sound like its the timing..its idleing fine and everything its just when i get on it. the turbo also sounds weird when i get on it too. my friend said hes never seen anything like this before and neither have i..so he cleared the code and about a half an hour later it started up agian..i reset the computer becuase one of my other friends said that would work and it did for about another half an hour..it ran fine when he cleared the code and it ran fine when i rest the computer but when the cruise control light blinks and the check engine light comes on it runs horrible agian ..if someone could help me that would be great!

I would get it to a Subaru dealer so they can get the computer on it to see what fault codes are coming up.

It could be just a sensor?

Yep! first thing you need to do is pull the code from the ECU and see exactly what is it.

I would not worry as you only want them to check the ECU for fault codes

As Peter said its a good idea to get the ECU checked for the fault.
